Siemens HMI Repair, Backup & Recovery
Siemens touchscreen not responding? Project file locked in a panel nobody can open? We back up, recover, and migrate Siemens HMIs across Australia. Specialists in Comfort Panels, KTP Basic, and the older TP and MP series.
Siemens HMIs are everywhere in Australian industry. Comfort Panels on process plants, KTP Basic on OEM skids, older TP and MP series still running on equipment that was installed fifteen years ago. The panels are well-built and the software is capable, but when something goes wrong you need someone who knows TIA Portal, WinCC Flexible, and the legacy ProTool projects that refuse to die.
TP700 Comfort, TP900 Comfort, TP1200 Comfort, TP1500 Comfort, KTP400 Basic, KTP700 Basic, KTP900 Basic, KTP1200 Basic, TP177B, TP277, OP177B, MP277, MP377, Unified Comfort MTP series

What We Do for Siemens HMI
- Project backup from running Comfort Panels and KTP Basic panels via TIA Portal
- Legacy project rescue from TP177, TP277, OP177, MP277, and MP377 panels running WinCC Flexible or ProTool
- Migration from WinCC Flexible projects into TIA Portal for ongoing support
- Program recovery when the original project file is missing and the installer is unreachable
- Siemens HMI screen not working diagnosis: power, comms, touch calibration, firmware
- ProSave backups and restore for older panels
- HMI replacement when the panel hardware has failed and the project needs to go onto a new Comfort Panel
- S7-1200 / S7-1500 integration work when the HMI and PLC are a matched pair
Why Siemens HMI Recovery Is a Specialist Job
Siemens has gone through three generations of HMI software: ProTool (legacy), WinCC Flexible (2006 onward), and WinCC in TIA Portal (2011 onward). Each handles project files differently. A ProTool project can't be opened directly in TIA Portal. A WinCC Flexible project has to be migrated. And if you're running the wrong TIA Portal version, you're locked out of your own file.
On top of that, Siemens Comfort Panels and older MP series have password-protected project uploads. If the person who set the password is gone and nobody wrote it down, getting the project back off the panel is a specialist job rather than a click-and-download.
The common failures we see on Siemens HMIs in Australia: touch screen not responding (often a screen replacement rather than a program issue), project upload locked out, TIA Portal version mismatch, comms dropping between the HMI and an S7 PLC, and legacy panels being replaced before anyone has a backup of what's on them.
Legacy Panels Still Running
Siemens still officially supports some legacy panels, but distributor-level repair turnaround in Australia can be weeks. For equipment that can't wait and for panels that are technically end-of-life (TP177A, OP77B, older MP277 variants), we offer migration to modern Comfort Panels so you own the project file in a supported editor going forward.
On-Site & Remote
On-site Siemens HMI service across Far North Queensland from Cairns to the Tablelands, Innisfail, Tully, and Port Douglas. Remote TIA Portal work available Australia-wide for panels that don't need physical access, including WinCC Flexible to TIA Portal migrations.
