We're based right here in Cairns. We specialise in the software and programming side of industrial automation — HMI screen design, PLC programming, communication configuration, system recovery, and documentation. We work with the brands that other companies avoid, especially the lesser-known equipment that's common on imported machinery.
Every service we provide is software and programming only. We don't do electrical work — that's your licensed electrician's job. We handle the brains, they handle the wires. It's a clean separation that works well for everyone.

Before FNQ Controls Tech, William spent over a decade building software for some of Australia's largest companies — including Qantas — working across complex systems, integrations, and high-reliability environments where downtime wasn't an option.
After relocating to Far North Queensland, he saw the same gap that frustrates so many local businesses: plenty of good electricians, but almost nobody who could program an HMI, recover a lost PLC project, or get a Modbus network talking properly. The big automation houses down south would charge a fortune just for the travel, and most wouldn't touch the lesser-known brands common on imported machinery.
